The Lotus is still missing, and our only clue to what happened to her is a vision of an unknown warframe being attacked and presumably destroyed by Ballas. We rush to the scene but arrive too late, being left with only a sword sticking out of the grass. We scan this, and Ordis decides that it would be wise to build this warframe.

To this end, Ordis requires to enter a vault on Lua that supposedly houses information on many warframes. We crack this vault open and discover a vitruvian, something of a museum stuffed into a little device. We view this device, looking for information on the unknown warframe. Among the required data to build the mysterious warframe, we also find out a lot about Orokin history. We discover that Ballas betrayed the Orokin in the Old War, leading to millions of deaths as he conspired alongside Hunhow. We also discover the origin of the warframes. The Infested Helminth Strain, once injected into a human, began their grotesque transformation into a warframe. Their skin would hard into an armoured chitin and their organs would be modified to the warframes we know as players. With their infested strength and unique abilities bestowed by the abominable strain, the Tenno were able to control these zombified husks of humans. Now converted into psychically controlled suits of armour, warframes were war machines piloted by the Tenno against the Sentient armies in the Old War.

With this lore bomb out of the way, we upload the vitruvian into our ship's data, finally allowing us to build the mysterious warfame. We build him, and upon attempting a transference link with it, we are kicked out as the warframe starts screaming and thrashing. Tearing off part of his helmet and revealing a clearly conscious eye, it attacks us and pins us to the wall, prepared to kill us.

We perform a last second transference and see into his memories, revealing that he was a Dax, just like Teshin, before being turned into a warframe. He was also the first to discover Ballas' conspiracy with Hunhow. Upon uncovering this, Ballas was infuriated. As punishment, he injected the warframe with the helminth strain. As his body slowly and agonizingly morphed into a warframe, he was forced to maintain a cordial dialogue with Ballas in front of his son who was unaware of all of the politics behind the encounter. The Dax could scream but nothing would come out, and as his body morphed fully into a warframe, he was forced through transference to murder his son. Through his Ballas' temperance, he was forced to relive the moment of killing his son an infinite number of times, his existence for untold years being reduced to a screaming suit while reliving the forced killing of his son.

We vow to share this burden with him through a transference link, and serve as the soul while serves as the hand in our partnership. We decide to take down Ballas together, and we do just that, killing Ballas in a climactic showdown. Immediately after, the Lotus reveals herself in her true sentient form in front of us. Saying little, she takes Ballas' corpse and flies away, leaving more questions than answers as the quest ends.
