the second dream

The Second Dream picks up directly where "Natah" left off, with Hunhow filling the main villain role he teased at the end of the previous quest. We start with a cutscene. Hunhow is talking to The Stalker, a warframe-esque villain with limited dialgue who the player could have encountered many times on their journey so far. The Stalker absolutely hates the Tenno for an undisclosed reason. In this cutscene, Hunhow leverages this hatred to his advantage. Hunhow sways The Stalker to his side, sharing that he knows of the secret weak spot of the Tenno, but that he himself is physically incapable of accessing it. Hunhow shares a fraction of his power with The Stalker, empowering him and arming him with a massive sentient blade infused with Hunhow's consciousness. Hunhow will point down a path, and all The Stalker needs to do is follow that path to "The Reservoir" and "cut out its beating heart" for him.

Unaware of any of this, you start trying to deal with this Hunhow issue. Reluctantly teaming up with Alad V, you dive into the depths of Uranus searching for an ancient fragment of Hunhow to gather information. You find this fragment deep underwater, but upon interfacing with the fragment, its revealed that this is a trap. Hunhow baited you, and he knew you would bite. Hunhow instantly abused this connection and discovered the location of "The Reservoir". He sends Stalker directly to it to finish the job.

We chase after the Stalker's trail, leading us through a void portal. We continue chasing him, and discover that the location of "The Reservoir" is on Lua, one of Earth's ancient moons. It was long thought to have been destroyed, but it's revealed now that the Lotus secretly hid the moon in the void to protect "The Reservoir", or protect you in other words.

The Stalker attempts a localized void collapse in an attempt to destroy the moon and, by extension, "The Reservoir". You avoid this disaster by pulling Lua out of the void, saving "The Reservoir" but finally revealing Lua to the physical world after so many years. Now fully exposed, the Stalker pursues the reservoir as you chase him.

Upon reaching this mysterious reservoir, you're met with a massive truth, perhaps the biggest lore bomb in the game. The reservoir is actually You, your true physical form. Placed in a cryosleep called the "Second Dream" that even you were unaware of, and thinking the warframe you've been playing as was actually you, you finally awake after untold years. You interface with the warframe and barely drag yourself back to the orbiter. The Stalker, ever vigilant, pursues you all the same. Now fully exposed and completely vulnerable, you could truly die. With quick thinking and harmonious synchronization with your warframe, you ward off the Stalker and sever his connection to Hunhow, putting an end to their collaboration and stopping them for now.
At the end of this quest, you get more lore revealing that the Tenno are the orphans of the Zariman-Ten-Zero colony ship accident where the Zariman was pulled into the void and everyone was killed barring these select children. These children were blessed with abnormal and mysterious void abilities that were then abused by the Orokin to interface with and control the warframes for warfare. Lotus took the memories of Margulis, the original caretaker of the Tenno, to turn them against the Orokin and fused them with her own (or Natah's), creating the Lotus we know now.
